Finding Rebates with Incentive Discovery

Use Incentive Discovery to browse, filter, and check eligibility for rebates in your area.

Written by Grace Veghte

Incentive Discovery gives you a bird's-eye view of the rebates and incentives available in your area, so you can spot programs that may apply to your jobs — and see how much they're worth. This article walks through how to find the tool, filter results, look up incentives by equipment, read the key details on each incentive card, and take the next step.

Opening Incentive Discovery

This will be the page you land on when you first create an account. You can also find Incentive Discovery in the left-hand menu of the Rock Rabbit app. Open it any time you want to explore what's available — no project or customer information required. Incentive Discovery automatically shows the incentives for the state your license is in, including each incentive's amount.

Filtering to the incentives that matter

By default you'll see every incentive in your license state. Use the filters to narrow the list to what's relevant for a specific job:

  • City / county — see only programs available in a specific location.

  • Status — filter by whether a program is currently active.

  • Job type — match incentives to the type of work you're doing.

  • Equipment efficiency ratings — narrow to programs whose efficiency requirements fit the equipment you install.

Look up incentives by AHRI Reference number

If you already have a specific HVAC system in mind, enter its AHRI Reference number in Incentive Discovery. Rock Rabbit will show you which incentives that exact equipment is eligible for, so you can confirm a match before you quote the job.

How each incentive is submitted

Every incentive card tells you how the rebate application is handled so you know what to expect before you start. There are three submission types:

Label

What it means

One-click submission

You can prepare, submit, and track your rebate application directly in Rock Rabbit.

Guided prep & export

You can use the checklist in Rock Rabbit to capture and export all the information, photos, and uploads required. You then submit the information to the incentive provider yourself, outside of Rock Rabbit (usually due to incentive provider rules).

Discovery only

You can check whether your project is eligible for this rebate in Rock Rabbit, but you apply for the rebate directly with the incentive provider. Rock Rabbit does not provide a checklist or handle submissions for this rebate.

See what claim submission will cost

Each incentive card's details include Rock Rabbit's claim submission pricing, so you know up front what submitting claims through Rock Rabbit will cost. We'll also show you the price again when you submit claims.

Reminder: We only charge at the final claim submission phase, and only for rebates where Rock Rabbit is processing the claim for you. If you submit the claim on your own, it's free.

Check whether you can be paid directly

Look for the "$ Contractor Eligible for Payment" flag on an incentive card. It indicates that, for that incentive, the contractor and/or the assigned recipient can be the payee. Click View Details on the card to see all possible fund recipients for the incentive.

Taking the next step

Incentive Discovery is for exploring, when you're ready to act on an incentive, create a new project with the specific job address. Tying the project to an address and the incentives lets Rock Rabbit confirm eligibility for that location, calculate exact incentive amounts, and build the application checklist for you.
